iPhoto '09 Geotag issue

I just bought an iPhone 3G S this morning. I have enabled location services, and I have allowed the Camera app access to my location. However, iPhoto '09 won't plot any pins in the Places tab. By showing the "Extended Photo Info", I can see Lat/Long coordinates, but they are not graphed on a map of any kind. Perhaps this is just a hardware compatibility issue that Apple can fix with an iphoto update?
