iphoto '09... purchase alone?

I just bought a new mac pro but was surprised i didn't get a new iphoto '09...
-do i get a discount?
-is there a way for me to purchase iphoto '09 alone, without the rest of the ilife suite?

Sorry no. But where did you get a new MP without the most recent iLife? That strikes me as odd.

The cost of iLife is such that it doesn't make sense for apple to sell only that product. It seems most people will only buy iPhoto instead of the suite if that was an option.

All new Macs made since iLife '09 was released in January come with it pre-installed. Was it a current model you bought or an old model at clearance price?

If you bought an old model you might be eligible for a "free" upgrade to iLife'09. You would only have to pay about $10 shipping costs. The store where you bought your Mac should be able to give you the link for your country.
