If you have created slideshows with iPhoto 08 that have customizing such as transitions, Ken Burns effects, durations of slides on screen and so on, installing iPhoto 09 can change the settings you have put into your slideshow.

I have had a 145 image slideshow altered to the point that the work involved has been lost. (The slideshow creation and installation of 09 unfortunately was in between TM backups, my problem I realize, but having a new version of a well established program re-work previous material was not something I anticipated)

As I was unsure if it was something I had done I took my computer to my local Apple authorized service outlet. They un-installed 09, re-installed 08, brought up an older slideshow from my Time Machine back up disk. They then installed 09 and found the same result.

There does not seem to be any warning in iLife 09 Read Me files or in the installation sequence that this can happen.
