I'm trying to import some photos from a DVD into iPhoto but having no luck. When I insert the DVD, I get a DVD icon on the desktop. But there is no command that I can find in iPhoto to help me import. Alll the icons at the bottom of the screen are grayed out except iWeb, and that isn't what I want.

I can't find anything in the manual (PowerMac G5, 10.4.11) that gives me a clue, nor in any of two supplemental books I recently bought.

i though only MS was supposed to be this frustrating.

Many thanks.

iPhoto 101 indeed

I would never think of doing it that way...

You have two choices:

1. More complicated and Windows-ish - in iPhoto go to File > Import to Library and select your dvd. Click Import.

2. Simple and Drag and Drop - drag your dvd from your desktop into iPhoto.

Well, duh! Why didn't I think of that? My conception of how Mac works as opposed to Windows eneds a lot of work. Many thanks.
