When i go to load iPhoto on my 2010 MBP and when i loads it just sits at the main screen with the spinning circle. None of the panels on the left hand side load, and it just sits with the spinning loading sign, not the beach ball, the white circle.

Do i need to perform a clean install of iLife?
If so, will that be on the Mac OS X Applications Disc i got from Apple with my MacBook, as iLife 11 came preinstalled?
will i have lost the projects i've made/will i lose them when i do the install?

Thanks in advance

Not as if i posted this looking for a reply or anything...

these links should help you reinstall, but once again, would suggest you wait a little longer until someone who is an experienced Mac User answers. maybe check back later in the evening,

I've restarted my computer, and deleted then reinstalled iPhoto and the problem persists.

Is your iPhoto library corrupt?

Quit iPhoto, move the current library somewhere on your desktop and rename it.

Restart iPhoto with a new catalog. If all looks fine then your old library is corrupt.

Could you explain how to do this?

Do i just copy and paste my photos from 'All Images' into a folder on my desktop?

How do i do it?

Sorry

Sorry

1.) Go into your "Pictures" folder and drag the iPhoto Library to your desktop. Just let it sit there.

2.) Start iPhoto. It will say it can't find your Library. Click "Create New"

3.) Save the Library wherever iPhoto Suggests.

If iPhoto works then your old Library is corrupt. If you had imported your original photos into that corrupt file they are probably still there. You can get them back in their original form thusly:

1.) Right click the corrupt iPhoto Library on your desktop.

2.) Select "Show Package Contents"

3.) Inside the folder titled "Masters", you'll find all your originals.

Oh, we appear to have crossed wires.
It's not a case of the library not showing up. iPhoto just doesn't load, full stop. It just hangs on the window, like in the picture.

I will try that now.
Sorry, I've been asleep.

Thanks a lot!
My library was corrupt by the looks of. Just started a new one.

Thanks again
