iPhoto 5 email choice

When I open iPhoto5 the Apple Mail symbol appears in the tool bar at the bottom and I can send a picture by clicking on it. BUT, if I open the iPhoto Preferences, the 'Email photos using:' immediately changes to Microsoft Entourage and all the other choices are grayed out. I attempted to change the plist with bbedit to no avail. Any idea why this is happening?

A fix from another forum. Dump any extra iPhoto's in previous systems.

I've had the same problem for a while now, even with iPhoto 4. I called Apple and spent 30 minutes with a techie. After trying everything, he said he'd have to send it upstairs and give me a call back. Haven't heard from him since. But the previous link gives me hope. Thanks.
