I would like to take advantage of the external monitor plugged into my powerbook when using iphoto. Is it possible to use the second monitor for editing in full screen - keeping the library open on the first monitor ? Been playing with this for a while and not been able to achieve it or find anything on the web about it.

Yes you can. Just go into preferences and select "edit photo in a separate window"

I know this is perhaps cheeky, given the relative age of the thread, but I have a question on this topic:

I am using iPhoto 8.1.1 ('09), and the option for editing a photo in a new window seems to have disappeared. Is there still a way to do this that I haven't managed to find? Or is there, perhaps, another way to make the most of my second monitor for editing photos?

Thanks.
