iPhoto 8.1.2 and Mavericks

I'm noticing that this version of iPhoto seems pretty unstable under Mavericks. It's crashed for me a couple of times (hardly ever under previous OSs) and the last time took out my library, requiring me to rebuild it (which took over 24 hrs...). Anyone else having this issue? Any fixes?

Upgrade iPhoto to the latest version.

Also, you should back up your computer so the next time you have a library issue, you can just restore it from backup.

Thanks - the latest version of iPhoto is a major **** up from my perspective, so I'm holding off on ditching the last working version for my purposes. I'm probably going to have to bite the bullet eventually and move to Aperture.
I have a backup, but honestly have been a little concerned about library integrity for a while, so a rebuild was helpful.

Either update iPhoto or downgrade from Mavericks. Although Aperture is a good choice IMHO.
