iPhoto 9.6.1 Auto Renaming Events?

Hi,

In preparation for my hopefully eventual move to Photos, I've been importing all of my photos into iPhoto and trying to get my library sorted.

Problem is I didn't realise you couldn't order the Events down the left hand side by anything other than alphabetically and I've got in excess of 200 events now.

Firstly, can anyone confirm that there's no way of sorting these by date for example?

Secondly, if I can't, and i have to rely on naming, are there any add ons or scripts out there that can help me with this? I'd ideally like the event to be renamed to prefix the date of the earliest photo in the event.

Hi,

you can sort the Events by date : View/Sort Events : by date.

AH yes, but as far as I can see that only sorts the Events in the Events view, I'm talking about the list down the left hand side.

I don't know how they are sorted in this list, but you can sort them manually.
