iphoto and events

hi

dunno if this is gonna sound stupid so forgive me...

every time i use iphoto 8 and import pictures, it wants to put them into events, i just want them in albums, for example, girlfriend, family, travels, etc etc. but will iphoto let me do this or have i found some way of doing this? nope

am i crazy and missed something so obvious?

iPhoto has never let you import direct into Albums. After import, create an Album and drag in the pictures that you want in it.

is there anyway to stop it the event side though? im guessing iphoto 9 doesnt cure this either...
