iPhoto - Black Tumbnails / Source Folders?

The thumbnails in iphoto are blank.

I may have caused a disruption in Finder which has altered the source folders for iphoto.

I now have files and folders on Finder under iphoto Library and don't know how to consolidate so iphoto works again.
