iPhoto blank recovered photos

Hey,

I have iPhoto running through my NAS and at times it has timed out and I have had to force quit.

I have recently launched iPhoto and found some blank recovered photos all 91 infact.... Why are these blank how can I recover them and are they real photos? Im concerned deleting them will delete any. I cant confirm whether some are missing as I have many photos...
