This is very weird. I have a new PowerMac running Tiger and the latest version of iPhoto. When I try to add the JPEGs from my previous iPhoto library folders to the new iPhoto, using the 'Add to Library...' function under 'File', I get a message saying 'the folowing files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data).

This doesn't make sense. Those JPEGs are totally normal. Can anyone help? :)

Have you still got the old iPhoto file?? If so, zip it and put it onto your powermac. Unzip it, then place the whole iPhoto unzipped folder into ~/Photos. When you next open up iPhoto, it should show your entire libary. (It worked for me)

I hope this is what you meant.

i had a problem like this. I found out I had to move all the photos into a different folder. If it is in the same iPhoto folder it won't import

Created a new folder with a different name and yes it worked! :D

Many thanks to everyone who replied. As ever this is a great forum. :)
