iPhoto cleaning out Trash Bin

how do I clear out the trash bin in iPhoto?
I deleted it once and it all went back to my Photo file, which I didn't want to do, I wanted to delete it completely from my computer.
I have over 4,000 pictures in my iPhoto trash bin.
Thank you if anyone can help me out in this.

right click on the trash in the side bar and choose empty trash.
