iphoto compatible scanner

I'm looking for a scanner that will allow me to scan pictures directly in to iphoto without having to go through the hassle of importing them.

I have 1000's of pictures to do so the most efficient way possible would be really nice.

I've heard of an HP scanner what would do that but that was under tiger not leopard and the guy didn't give a model number of the scanner.

Anyone have any suggestions?
