iPhoto Error Messages

Hello All,
I am hopeful someone can help me PLEASE. iPhotos on my macbook pro keeps quitting on me giving me an error message that says " photos must quit because the photo library has become unavailable or its data is corrupt" Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
