I have outgrown my new MBP and am trying to export my 119GB 13,000+ iPhoto collection. iPhoto can get to a point and then randomly crashes saying that it cannot create the folder that it has been exporting to even though it has exported 10,000+ files to that location. This is quite an annoying thing to findout after 14+ hours of exporting. The only option given to click is CANCEL!!! When I check the destination location it shows almost 11,000 files have been transferred. They have been transfered into a single layer folder which is to be expected. duplicate file names have been indexed properly (xxxx.jpg xxxx-1.jpg xxxx-2.jpg) I cannot possibly go through the files to determine which ones are missing.

Please help. this is my first venture into the world of Mac. I was/am so excited about iPhoto we went out and took lots of pictures and foolishly put them into a managed directory on a 160GB machine. I have 800GB of pictures and personal digital movie files on my WHS and should have known that 160GB would only last a few months. (first baby born 11 weeks ago will fill a hard drive very quickly)

I am exporting (not copying iPhoto folders) because these files will need to be accessed from both OSX and Win7
