iPhoto faces not cooperating

Has anyone experienced this?

I have a photo that iPhoto did not see a face in, so I click to add a missing face. I position the face, name the person, and click done. Next time I go into the photo, it has reset and no face is present at all. No matter what I do, it will not keep the face. What gives?

Export, then reimport the image. Something may have gone wonky with it's associated files in the iPhoto Library package. Also confirm/deny if you're running iPhoto 8.0.3 as it is the latest version.
