IPhoto faces screwed up my Events!!!

I just loaded my wifes iphoto library into a rebooted mac and new iphoto 11, and the evnts are doubled sometimes tripled and in the events themselves there are close ups of everyones faces....
anyone have any clue as to why? thanks in advance..
