iPhoto file size

I noticed that when I exported some of my iphoto pictures to a backup drive that they all became very small file sizes. In the neighborhood of 50K. Obviously this is not what I want as I want to retain the original file sizes so I can import them onto my other computer and iPhoto as is.

Thanks for you help if anyone knows how I can get around this.

Maybe explain how exactly you exported them? There are a few different ways but the default settings should leave you with the full sized (modified if applicable) photos.
