iPhoto force-quit: lost latest import?

I just finished importing some pics from my phone onto iPhoto and the default behaviour erases them off the memory card once the import is complete.

I was rotating them in my Library when iPhoto started beachballing and I did a forced quit. Now I can't find my pics. iPhoto's last import is blank and they're not in my library (they were before I quit).

Any ideas where they might be or are they lost?

Start iPhoto holding down the option key and rebuild the database. If they're on the HD, it should put them back in the library
