iphoto greyed out when choosing to sync in itunes

I wanted to sync an iphoto library to my iphone 3gs in itunes, but when I choose to sync, the iphoto library is greyed out and I cant choose it.

I am on a mac mini mid 2011, running mountain lion with the latest itunes.
