iPhoto, Hell, MAC help!!!

Help!
Can someone tell me why I can't find a lot of my photos in the 'photos' or 'events' tabs. It seems like they are just scattered all over iPhoto and I can't find a rhyme or reason??? Some are in the events under the day taken and others grime the SAME day aren't there?? I'm new to MAC anyways so organizing my photos is a bit frustrating!!!

I am by no means an expert, but can you explain how the photos got into iPhoto? i.e Did you do a mass import? folder by folder? How were your pictures arranged where they came from? I'm learning iPhoto too and have seen that how you import them affects where they go as well as the date taken. Hopefully someone can then chime in...

I'm new to the rMBP also. I went back to the Apple Store and asked them about where the iPhotos were at and he said to just plug my iPhone into the USB port and it will import all photos. It works.
