iPhoto hide certain Faces

In iPhoto you can choose to hide certain pictures or events, and then those pictures/events don't sync to your iPhone. Is there any way to hide a certain "Face" so that those pictures, or at least that specific person's face doesn't sync to my iPhone? I don't mind if the pictures themselves show on the phone; just don't want to have that specific person's name show up on my list.

For sentimental reasons, I don't want to go through and untag every one of these pictures either.

You could perhaps do it the other way round,you could create smart folders that excluded that face, then only sync those smart albums rather than sync all events and albums.
