iPhoto - how do I stop it from importing photos

I no longer use iPhoto for photo cataloging, and I cannot figure out how to get iPhoto to stop trying to import photos as soon as I plug in my card reader. I use Lightroom instead, and would like iPhoto to not try to import when it detects a device. I've searched through the Preferences menu and other places but could not figure it out. ???

image capture-->preferences-->when a camera is connected-->do nothing

pretty simple.

Thank you for the help. I was trying to change it from within iPhoto, not from Image Capture. A-ha.

iPhoto->preferences->advanced

there's 4 tick boxes in there...take your pick

iPhoto > Preferences > General, at the bottom, connecting camera opens.
Select from iPhoto, image capture or no application.
