I am upgrading to a MBP / Leopard / iPhoto 09 from a iBook / Tiger / iPhoto 08. When I tried to move my pics via the Export and Import functions and a flash drive recommended by a Apple Store salesperson, I found that all of the pic titles, keywords and Events that are in the 08 iPhoto Library did not 'show up' in the MBP / 09. It was just one large event. The three Events that were in 09 before I imported the 08 pics remained and appear to be unaltered.

I was thinking of copying the iPhoto Library from 08 to 09 via a flash drive but now I am concerned that this might not be the right process either. If I upgraded from 08 to 09 on the same machine I believe 09 would find the 08 files and change them to the 09 format. I am concerned that by 'dropping' the 08 files into an installed version of iPhoto 09 may not work.

Can anyone list the steps I need to take to get my pics and their associated data running in iP 09?

Thanks, Bill
