Unintentionally, we have multiple images with the same identification number in our iPhoto library. (Is this because we have multiple digital cameras?)
For example IMG_1710.JPG identifies a photo in the AMNH 4/2/06, and one in Thanksgiving 11/25/07 and another in Buenos Aires 2/10/08. AARGGH!
When trying to make a scrapbook page for iWeb or mobile me of all photos taken on 2/10/08, I receive the following message for almost everyone of the images:
The volume for IMG_1710.JPG cannot be found.
Insert the disk or connect to the server volume and wait for it to appear on the desktop, then try again.
And then I have to search the hard drive and choose which one of the 2 (sometimes 3) images is the one I want.
Clearly the program can't find the path that is based on the date AND the identification number.
Is there a way I can direct it to only look for photos taken on 2/10/08?
Many thanks for suggestions on how to deal with this issue on the current iPhoto library.
I would also appreciate suggestion for how to prevent it in the future.
(I am using iPhoto'09 and OS 10.5.6)
