I am trying to import a large amount of photos from my 6plus to iPhoto.

It is stuck with 1619 remaining. I click on stop import and it gives me the options continue importing, keep photos or delete photos.

It won't respond when i choose continue or keep and i daren't click delete. The little wheel next to the iPhone under devices is spinning but it still shows the same photo and doesnt seem to be cancelling import.

Presumably they are still on my phone..

How do I remedy this? If I force quit iPhoto will i lose the photos already imported? Trying to quit normally is not an option as it tells me it is in the middle of importing. Thanks in advance. Trying to use image capture but it's showing 2 of each photo and i have no idea why.

I chose force quit, iPhoto managed to save the import of the first 100 or so. Now iPhoto is showing double the photos -so over 3300 rather than over 1600.

Managed to do a bit of digging and got rid of duplicates and am importing so perhaps it's fixed...

I'm running iPhoto 9.6.1
