If I'm trying to import pictures from a cd rom or thumb drive, can I not import them directly into iPhoto? Is this correct? I have to import them into finder somewhere and then into iPhoto?

I swear if i'm importing them from my iPhone I can put them directly into iphoto.

I believe you click on "File" and then "Import To Library" which will bring up the Finder window. Click on the source, just like in Windows Explorer, and then navigate along the windows to the files you want to import. Select the files you want to import to the iPhoto library and click on "Import."

But the photo has to already be in finder, correct? So you have to import the pic into finder and then iphoto? You can't just take it right to iphoto?

1) File > Import to Library
2) Select source. In this case the USB drive or CD Rom attached to/in the computer (the disk image will be on the desktop)
3) Select image(s) to import.

You do NOT have to drag photos onto the desktop to import into iPhoto.
