Im having a problem as of late with my iPhoto. Recently when I import photos, either from my iPhone or camera, the photo shows up in my library but when I attempt to upload the photo to an email or to a website I cannot actually find it anywhere on my computer. I've searched using spotlight with the file name (IMGP0024.JPG for example) and nothing. I have all of my photos on an external harddrive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

iPhoto does not want you to worry about where you put the photos from.

If you want to send the photos, you can just click the photo that you want to send, then click share -> email

Otherwise if you really want the file, click the photos that you want, click file-> export

Try searching like this;

1-Activate Finder
2-Press Command+F
3-Type what you're searching for
Done.
