iPhoto keeps duplicating my photos!

Hi there,

For some reason, when I upload pictures onto my Mac from my camera, it makes duplicates of the photo, sometimes even 2 duplicates. This is very annoying as I have to go through my library deleting the duplicates. Is this a known problem? Can anyone help?

Are you sure that you are not uploading the same photos again from your camera? Do you delete from your camera after uploading? Iphoto gives you the option of only displaying those photos on your camera that haven't been uploaded.

I usually keep the photos on my camera after importing, but I fear that that has something to do with it. And where is that option? I have iPhoto '08.

And where is that option?

At the bottom of the import window there should be a tick box to hide those photos already imported.
