Can any one help - i cant open my i photo library - i keep getting this message:

You can’t open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto.

You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Do you want to quit and use the latest version of iPhoto, or do you want to create a new photo library?

then has a quit button

i have not made any changes to my library - i just opened it up and this was the message - i have no software updates due

wtf - i have over 5ooo pictures on here

any help would be appreciated

What version of iPhoto are you running? Have you ever run your iPhoto library on another Mac that has a newer version of iPhoto?

First, take a back-up copy of the library. Then

Try holding down both option and command keys at the same time when staring iPhoto. If you get as far as a dialog box asking for repair options; try repair permissions first, if that doesn't work try repair database, if that doesn't work try rebuild database
