I have a shuttle computer with windows xp, and wonder if i can use this as a server for shared iphoto library for two mac computers?

you can if you are connecting to the server using smb. move the iPhoto library in your pictures folder to the server and the open iPhoto on the two macs while holding "option" and choose the library on the server.

you may have to edit the permissions of the library before you move it to allow anyone to read/write.

good luck. post back if youve done it or need any extra help.

how do i set up smb in win xp?
is it not as easy to just enable filesharing in win xp? would that work? tried it, but the windows computer was formated in NTFS. Would it work if it was FAT 32?

UPDATE: a buddy told me that it would work, but that windows cant save meta data, so iphoto would be ****ed up by this.
