anyone have any suggestions/experience on what they feel is the optimal photo library size is? (FYI, I have a 867 PB 12".) currently, i keep mine around 200 mb or less, but i think that is being too conservative. i probably could put more than that in a library and still have iPhoto work well. (in case you haven't noticed, i used iphoto library manager to split my photo libraries.)

also, anyone know a free or a low-cost shareware app that can take quality jpeg's (1+ MB each - a full quality 3.2 megapixel pictures taken with my canon s230.) and compress them in bulk? (has to be bulk - i have over 1,000 pics and i cannot go compress them one by one.) almost all of these pics are the same size. i was thinking of storing my originals on an external HD and keeping only the reduced pictures for viewing in iphoto on my PB...

thanks for any info.
