Hi, I'm about to format my macbook to give to my son, but wanted to make sure that I have copied all photos off prior.

I see iPhoto Library is uploaded to iCloud, the content matches (about 40GB). But I also see on my macbook Photos Library which is 47GB. is there a way to confirm this is the same as iphoto Library? if i right click the photos library, it opens with iPhoto.

Any advice is appreciated.

Normally, the Photo Library contains all the stuff from IPhoto Library (you had an OS upgrade in the past and all the stuff was migrated from Iphoto to Photos. Just to be 150% sure, you can view and copy the pictures on an external Drive: You have to right click on PHOTO LIBRARY, show package contents and drag and drop the pictures you want to keep Screen Shot 2020-08-08 at 10.01.54 PM.png
