iPhoto made a photo disappear...

I was watching my wife as she did this...

She was dragging a photo from iPhoto into Aperture. After dragging it, the photo disappeared from iPhoto. We searched for the filename, and it is not found anywhere on the hard disk.

What the heck just happened?!

Look in aperture trash, not the regular trash. Next you will find five copies of some images...
