When I open iPhoto it shows thumbnails of all of my photos, just like it should. I have ~950 photos. Maybe one hundred or so (it seems to be just 2 rolls) do not display when I double click them. I open them up and I get a square with an exclemation point in the middle. I have gone to these photos in finder and opened them with preview and they open fine. I don't know why iPhoto doesn't want to open them. Has anyone else ever seen this?

Did you move the originals from where iPhoto stored them?

No I haven't moved them. I even tried deleting them from iPhoto and re-importing them, but iPhoto tells me that they're already in the collection.

Did you rebuild the database as I suggested?
I'm not at home right now. I get off in about 10 minutes so I'll try it when I get there.

Stupid me. I fixed the problem. A little while back I had been messing around with Automator and I renamed some pictures in a few folders. I deleted them out of iPhoto, moved the folder out of the iPhoto library and imported them and everything is fine. Thanks for the help.

OK, good to hear you got things sorted out. Thanks for the update.
