Just have a quick question: My iPhoto is not opening up anymore, when you click it to open it freezes and shuts down.

My laptop is old, it's a G4 powerbook and my iPhoto just isn't opening anymore and I would like it to.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I know this isn't much information but I don't know how to fix this issue. Thanks.

Have you tried deleting "com.apple.iphoto.plist" in Macintosh HD / Users / YOU / Library / Preferences / yet?
Does it also happen in another, even temporarily created, user account?

And what Mac OS X and iPhoto version do you use?

Will deleting that erase my photo's?

and I'm not at my computer right now but I believe I have iLife '05 or '06

and I will need to look up my MAC OS X when I get home.

And no, there are no other accounts on the laptop.

I can try creating a temp account to see and let you know. But I will first try and delete that file and see what happens.

Update:

I am running: MAC OS X Version 10.5.8

Operating System Running: Leopard

Processor 1.67 GHz PowerPC G4

Memory: 1.5 GB DDR SDRAM

iPhoto version running: 5.0.4

I deleted the file "com.apple.iphoto.plist" and it still didn't work.

But i did create a guest user account and iPhoto opened just fine.

So why wont it open under my account? Thanks for any help

does anyone know if deleting any of the other files at the location:

Macintosh HD / Users / YOU / Library / Preferences

for iphoto will mess up and/or fix the issue? I am afraid to delete a file there and it totally mess things up and/or delete my photos.

Thanks in advanced for any help.

If you delete any other files in that location, which stores preferences and settings, thus the name "Preferences", you will not delete any actual photos, as they are stored somewhere else, as mentioned before, but you will delete the settings and preferences of the applications the .plist files are there for and hardly restore your iPhoto application.

Tried uninstalling iPhoto and reinstalling yet?

Uninstalling Applications in Mac OS X

which also includes:

I have not tried uninstalling iPhoto but that is because I don't have a disc to re-install it with. Unless there is another way to install iPhoto, or at least the version I have? Because I'm pretty sure that uninstalling and reinstalling would fix the issue.
