iPhoto not seeing iPhone 4, no way to get videos / pics in Mac

iPhoto isn't detecting my iPhone 4. Tried on 2 machines with the latest iTunes installed on both. No go. Anyone else having this issue?

I hate iPhoto. Use Image Capture. It's so much simpler and faster. And import to a folder, not iPhoto.

I had this issue earlier today. iPhoto recognized my OLD phone when my new iPhone 4 was cabled, but did not show any pictures. A reboot of my macbook took care of the issue. Now it sees my NEW iPhone and reads the photos.
