Hi guys. When I plug in my Kodak EasyShare C613 iPhoto pops up and asks me if I want to sync my photos. I click yes, and then I end up with files of size 1mb. My camera is a 6.2 megapixel one, and the options show it is taking photos of file size 6.1 megapixels.

Can anybody tell me why the file size is so heavily reduced?

Thanks,
David.

Megapixels do not directly map to file size. What level of JPEG compression is being used? If it's heavily compressed then that file size is about right.

Hi, thanks for the reply. How can I check the level of compression in iPhoto?

It's not being compressed in iPhoto (unless you are exporting the images from iPhoto, in which case it might recompress them): it's normally a camera setting. I know nothing about Kodak cameras so I've no idea where you'd find it...
