Hi,

I've followed these instructions:

http://ad.hominem.org/log/2005/07/acl.php

Which let me edit a shared iPhoto library with two accounts on the same machine, but if one user has the shared library open in iPhoto the other user cannot open the Library (I get an error "The iPhoto Library is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have permission to make changes to it).

Is this something I've done wrong or is this just a limitation of iPhoto?

Edit: Just noticed an iPhotolock.data in the iPhoto directory when I start the app, that is deleted when the app shuts down - maybe this is by design?

Yes, that is by design. The two applications have no way of coordinating with each other, so you would lose any changes made in one once the other saved it's changes. One library should only be used by one computer/account at the same time.
