Okay so i have a WD smartware backup. I backed up my whole computer including all my photos from Iphoto (this backup device also uses time machine) Then my computer died. Now I have a macbook pro and and I am trying to view my old iphoto photos. I have gone to recover backups many times and nothing is there. I am very worried I lost all my photos, please help I really need it.
Thanks in advanced,
K

Yes i did but before I could open iphoto I had to update it which may have screwed it up.

Yes but when I open it there are no photos. Then when I go to photo recovery nothing shows up. It does't show the last times I updated my computer like it did on my last computer instead it only shows today.

Yes it says Iphoto library but when I click it it just brings me to an empty iphoto library. I know the photos are in my external hard drive because when I went to recover them on my old computer (when it was working) I was able to see them all. Im sorry this probably sounds so confusing.

Regarding the external hard drive. Are the names the same when they are mounted on the new MBP vs. the old one? The library may be pointing to a destination that had its name changed, etc.

As far as I know the names don't change but i may be wrong. I never really payed attention to that on Iphoto.
