My iPhoto library is located at ~/Pictures/iPhoto Library (default location)
My photos are all located at \\Windowspc\d\photos
I imported my photos into iPhoto without copying them, so they all stayed at their original location.
This duplicated my folder structure in ~/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Originals, and each folder contains aliases to the pictures on my Windows PC.
My question - what if in the future I want to move my photos to \\Windowspc\e\photos ? Or \\Newwindowspc\d\photos ? Or what if I buy a new Mac and migrate my iPhoto library to it? Those aliases will presumably no longer work, right? I don't want to have to re-import all of those photos in the future, because then I'd have to re-enter all of the metadata for them (keywords, faces, etc). What can I do to ensure I don't have a problem with this in the future, other than allowing iPhoto to store my photos where it wants to store them?
