Iphoto Photoshop synch problem

I don't know exactly whats wrong, but I was working on some files in photoshop on a pc and saved them as a tiff. When I imported them into Iphoto, as I wanted to organize through that and create a photobook, Iphoto is not reading the edits. I opened them in a canon program that came with my camera and it reads them fine. Does anyone know what could be wrong?
