iPhoto Photostream

Hi Everyone,
I just got a Macbook 15 for Christmas. I was moving my photos into iPhoto and now it is uploading 15,000 photos to my photo stream. How can I just add photos to iPhoto without them being added to my photo stream. All I want on my photo stream are my iPhone and iPad pictures, but I want to be able to see them on my Macbook as well.

Please help, it is really messing up my photo stream.

Disable it.

iPhoto -> Preferences -> iCloud and uncheck Automatic Upload
