Hi, i recently got a new LaCie external hard drive in order to store photos from iphoto to free up space on my hd. However after researching how to do this i used the alt/option key when opening iphoto in order to create a new library, once i did this i directed the new library to my external hard drive. Now when i open iphoto there are no images and if i open my external hard drive to the new library it just opens iphoto and no images show up! What do i do? is there any way i can reverse the process?? Why is there nothing in my new eh library??

thankss

You should have started off by creating a copy of the iPhoto Library to be moved to the external drive or moved the package from ~/Pictures to the external itself. The option key would have then been used to choose the library, and not to create a blank new one. Open iPhoto with the option key held down, choose the library on the internal drive inside of your Pictures folder to first verify that your pictures are still intact. Once done with that, delete the blank library on the external hard drive, relocate your existing library or duplicate it, then select the moved/duplicated library before clearing the one from ~/Pictures.
