Yesterday I accidentally imported a 39MB .tiff into my iPhoto library instead of the 2MB .jpg copy. After doing so iPhoto crashed and would not open.

Every subsequent attempt at launching the program would result in iPhoto starting to open then closing “unexpectedly”. I rebooted but that didn’t fix it. I started meddling and didn't try a "rebuild" before I screwed up the iphoto.db filed and the .xml file.

Then iPhoto would open, but it's empty, none of my 2600-3200 photos are there. But they're still in the finder.

I then reimported all of my photos but somewhere along the line I’m missing about 600 (could be in a different directory), but worst of all now all the photos seem to be in random order??

All the folders that iPhoto created when I first imported every picture for the last few years is in tact, but when importing them the order is all mixed up. Also there seems to be duplicates.

p.s. I've found the Apple article that explains how to manually import, this addresses the duplicate issue because now I think that I've imported the thumbnails as well.

The remaining problem is ordering. I need them chronilogically ordered just like they used to be! Can anyone help?

Thanks a ton!
