Iphoto Problems

Well I've had my mbp for since about the end of this summer and although it's great, the one program that I really want to use is Iphoto. The only problems is that every time I create an album, Iphoto duplicates all my photos. I see this as rather pointless and I was wondering how to disable the function.

Where are the duplicates shown?

Can you post a screenshot maybe?

If you are talking about albums in the app sidebar, those are not duplicates. They are simply aliases to your actual photos. No extra space is being taken up.
