I use iPhoto to store my desktop images because it is simply easier to set a desktop from iPhoto than from system prefs. Problem is, I don't want to see these when I'm browsing my library.

Is there any way I can selectively exclude these pictures that I didn't take with a digital camera from the library view? Even better, is there a way to automatically do this?

Other suggestions to help my situation would be great as well

So, you have these photos in iPhoto, you don't want them to show up when you are scrolling through

I'm not sure if this is possible in the way you want it to work

You can however put your normal photos and desktop photos in seperate Albums and view them that way, and if you something automatic try out the Smart Albums

But all pictures in iPhoto must be in the Library, which like iTunes, all music appears in the Library :)
