I have had Aperture 3 since the MAS store launch day but really haven't fiddled with it. Just got a new 27" iMac with SSD last week. I've decided to switch from iPhoto to Aperture 3 for my photo library. Though my new machine would probably handle the switch better than my 2007 2.8Ghz 24" iMac, I don't want to copy a 40-50GB iPhoto library across and then import it to Aperture. So I plan to do it on the older machine and then migrate the clean Aperture library over to the SSD on the new one.

1. Are there any trick or tips I should know about when moving from iPhoto to Aperture?

2. Do I want to create multiple libraries for any reason?

3. Is there anything that iPhoto does that Aperture can't? ie. Books, Calendars, etc.

Thanks for any feedback.

Mods: if this should be in digital photography or elsewhere, please move.
